Donald A. Torbert collection, 1836-1960.

The collection consists of photographs of residences, commercial buildings, churches, bridges, hotels, government structures and other photographs gathered by Torbert in compiling his doctoral dissertation, "Minneapolis Architecture and Architects, 1848-1908." The collection also includes a number of 19th century street scenes from Minnesota towns and cities.
